1. These terms

Nimbus is an app built and maintained by Michael Whelan. By installing or using it you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please uninstall the app.

2. What you get

Nimbus is provided free of charge, for your personal, non-commercial use. There is no subscription, no paid tier and no feature kept behind a payment. No account is required.

3. Forecasts are predictions, not promises

Weather data is supplied by Open-Meteo and is provided as-is. Forecasts are inherently uncertain, and conditions can differ from what the app shows. Nimbus makes no guarantee that any forecast, UV figure, sunrise time or other reading is accurate, complete or current.

Do not rely on Nimbus where being wrong would be dangerous. It is not suitable for aviation, marine navigation, mountaineering, emergency planning or any other safety-critical decision. Always follow official weather warnings from your national meteorological service.

4. UV information is not medical advice

The UV index shown in Nimbus is general information, not medical or health advice, and it does not account for your skin type, medication, altitude, reflection off water or snow, or how long you have already been outdoors. It is no substitute for guidance from a qualified health professional. Decisions about sun protection remain yours.

5. Acceptable use

Please do not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app beyond what the law permits, use it in a way that disrupts the services it depends on, or redistribute it as your own.

6. Third-party services

Nimbus depends on services it does not control, including Open-Meteo for weather and geocoding, Sentry for crash reporting, and Google Play for distribution. Their own terms apply to their part, and their availability is outside my control. Links the app opens take you to sites governed by their own terms.

7. Availability and changes

The app may change, break, or be withdrawn at any time, and features may be added or removed without notice. There is no guarantee of uninterrupted availability.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nimbus is provided without warranties of any kind, and I am not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of it or from reliance on the information it presents. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

9. Supporting the app

Any contribution made through the Buy Me a Coffee link is a voluntary gift. It is not a purchase, it buys no feature, service or entitlement, and it is not refundable through the app.

10. Privacy

How Nimbus handles your data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, where I am resident. Nimbus is available internationally, and nothing here takes away the protection of any mandatory consumer law of the country you live in: where those rules differ from these terms, they win. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own country of residence.

12. Changes to these terms

Updated terms will be posted here with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.
